My wife, Kayla, and I decided it was time to move into a larger home for our growing family. We knew just who to contact about selling our home. We reached out to Craig Summers of Atlanta Northwest Realtys Paulding & Polk Team, because hed sold us our current home and stayed in contact with us over the years. We asked a ton of questions and Craig gave us a ton of information about our options in selling our current home. In doing so, he reminded us that hed told us we bought our first home at the right time. When Craig arrived, he advised that he did not come to try to convince us to sell our home, but rather was there to use all the tools at his disposal to show us the answers to all of our questions. He did just that; he spent 3-4 hours at our home going over the market for our current home and the potential of selling. We were excited and overwhelmed, so Craig advised us to think it over and hed follow up with us. He didnt have to; we followed up with him the next day to let him know we wanted to sell and begin looking for our new home. Craig set up a time to meet with us and go over the listing presentation and details of listing our home. At this second meeting, Craig arrived with his full listing presentation and went over that, showing us how hed market the home. He then briefly showed us again what the most recent sales prices were and what the homes currently on the market were listed for. He advised we needed a plan because homes were selling fast and we could receive an offer very quickly. We advised we had a back-up plan if we sold our home before we bought a new one. Since it was a back up plan and not our first option, Craig advised we should list our home at the top of the market to allow us time to look for a new home. We agreed; because if we got an offer at our list price, wed go with the back-up plan. We listed the home and had a few showings, so we decided we should find a new home quickly. Craig had set us up with a custom home search and we began setting appointments to see the homes we liked. Just 6 short days later, we fell in love with one of the homes we went to see. We made an offer and after a little negotiation, we got our offer accepted. Craig immediately advised we should reduce our price to get our current home sold around the same time we were supposed to close on our new home because we didnt want to have to move twice. We waited through the weekend and didnt get any offers, so we reduced our price. Within a couple of days, we received a strong CASH offer from an investor. It wasnt exactly what we wanted, but it was a really good offer; so, we took it. However, just one week later, the investor backed out of the offer.We almost gave up! Thanksgiving and Christmas were coming and wed lost our offer; we were so frustrated and didnt want to move at Christmas time. Craig told us not to give up, he was confident we could get another offer. He reached out to an agent whod previously showed our home and fortunately for us, her buyers were still extremely interested and they made us an offer! Their offer was actually better than the investor offer we had and would close 12 days before Christmas! Craig was even able to get the seller of the home we were going to purchase to extend our closing date on the purchase so we would not have to move twice!!
