I was moving from Seattle to Atlanta with my job as an aviation mechanic. I was renting in Seattle and thought about renting in Atlanta, but changed my mind and decided to buy a home. I filled out an online form to receive more information about a specific property. I received a call from Keisha Cline with Atlanta Northwest Realty’s Paulding & Polk Team. She gave me some information about the home and asked me for some general information to pass along to their lender to get me pre-approved for a home loan and get me out to see the home. Once the pre-approval letter was received from their lender, Keisha called to set our appointment to meet with Craig Summers, so we could see the home I called about as well as several others. When we met, Craig went over the buying process and created a custom home search website to fit my needs. Once we were finished with that, we went out looking at homes. We looked at a lot of homes and I made several offers, eventually getting one accepted. I had a home inspection completed on the home and we found some smaller issues that weren’t of major concern, but we also found out the heating and air system was 18 years old and therefore at the end of its useful life. Craig said not to worry, he would negotiate these issues with the seller. We both agreed the best option would be to simply ask for a lump sum reduction and we did. However, the seller simply would not agree to reduce the price any further. I chose not to proceed. Craig explained these types of things happen from time to time and that we would begin looking at homes again. We made several more offers and again one was accepted. This time the home seemed in much better condition and I decided to wait for the appraisal to be completed to see if any repair issues were noted on it before ordering a home inspection. Unfortunately, the appraisal came in $7,000 below the contracted price. Craig did everything he could to get the seller to reduce the sales price and they agreed, BUT would not pay any closing costs and reduce the price. Because of the price point, this was going to cause me to have to bring an enormous amount of money to the closing table. I again chose not to proceed. By this point I was extremely frustrated, but Craig never gave up helping me and continued to ensure me I would find a great home. In fact, shortly after the issues with the second home, he showed me approximately 20 homes in two days and we found an amazing home on 3.29 Acres, set back from the road, behind some trees, and a pond. I told Craig to make an offer; he did and it was accepted. Craig’s work in negotiating with the seller’s agent got the purchase price reduced by $1,400. He also got the seller to pay $4,000 in closing costs, leave a $2,000 Stainless Steel refrigerator, a second white refrigerator, AND all the blinds in the home. Craig’s hard work on my behalf greatly helped me with the purchase of this home; it paid off HUGE! With Craig’s help, I saved a TOTAL OF $7,400.00!! Craig also arranged the closing so my first house payment wasn’t due until 39 days later AND gave me the Buyers Advantage Program, which includes a 12 month Sell for Free Guarantee, A Free Home Warranty, and Free Owner’s Title Insurance. I highly recommend Craig Summers and Atlanta Northwest Realty’s Paulding & Polk Team to everyone who is looking to buy or sell Real Estate!
